Laws In Canada

If you use music in your business or organization – whether it be from pushing the ‘hold’ button or broadcasting it overhead, you may need one or several licenses as it pertains to the Public Broadcasting of Copy Righted Music as defined in Tariffs under the Copy Right Laws of our country which can be found in the Canada Gazette. The Laws are to protect the rights of artists, authors, composers and publishers to their work. When anyone plays or performs music in public, or distributes music in any form, they must have the rights to that music. Non-compliance by your business means the risk of legal action in federal court and potentially costly penalties, however when subscribing to a Please Hold Canada production, all associated licensing and royalty fees and are included and remitted to the applicable bodies for your location(s).
